The month of Thyroid Cancer Awareness
Thyroid is the body’s internal thermostat; it regulates the temperature by secreting two hormones that control how quickly you burn calories and use energy. If the Thyroid secretes too much hormone, you are hyperthyroidism if it secretes to little hormone it will result in hypothyroidism. Both of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism are more common in woman that men.
I’m a Thyroidectomy Survivor of over ten years and have been taking medication to balance thyroid function due to not having a thyroid. At times it is a struggle but most of my days and life has been rather calm and without major issues without a thyroid. Thyroid problems can be cured with the proper medications and the right balance of T-3 and T-4 hormone which the two regulate body temperature, heart rate and metabolism.
Happy Thyroid Month to all who are experiencing symptoms, taking thyroid medications, had a thyroidectomy, and trying to stabilize their hormone for a better life.
